Definition

A Nursing Visit is a home health visit performed by a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical/vocational nurse (LPN/LVN), when permitted by regulations, to provide skilled clinical care such as assessments, wound care, medication management, patient education, or disease monitoring.

Why it matters

Skilled nursing visits often count toward the LUPA threshold when they meet Medicare coverage requirements and are properly documented.
